Who are we?

The Founders

In the 1980s, Sergey Botvich and Thierry Dhuicq established a partnership to commercialize peat from the Baltic States to the West. By gradually expanding their business, they’ve developed a great deal of trade between Eastern and Western Europe.

With twenty years of experience, the Botvich-Dhuicq duo decided in 2013 to invest in producing plant-based carbon and its by-products in the vast forests of Eastern Europe by founding the CARBONARIUS investment group

The CARBONARIUS Group
GAURUS TECHNOLOGY, a group subsidiary, developed an industrial wood pyrolysis concept which makes it possible to produce plant-based carbon while recovering and recycling extracted pyroligneous gases and liquids.  

Based on this innovation, two production plants opened within a short period of time:
The DAREKA plant near Vilnius, Lithuania;
The BSPENERDGY plant located in the Grodno district in Belorussia.

CARBOROP is the CARBONARIUS group’s French distribution company for Western Europe. As a partner with purchasing departments, conscious of consumers and market changes, CARBOROP offers the entire product line from the group’s plants:
Wood charcoal for barbecuing;
Biocarbon for new uses in chemistry, industry, livestock farming, agriculture, etc.;
Tars, oils and molecules intended for biochemistry. .
